Happy patient

A lady called this morning to tell me how pleased she is with her glasses that I prescribed.  Her distance vision is better and she can read longer and easier than with her previous glasses.  She has lost some vision from glaucoma and sees a glaucoma specialist in addition to her local optometrist.  She came to me asking for better vision for reading and seeing to cook.  The glasses that her optometrist had prescribed were not working well for her.  She thought I might be able to help her with low vision glasses.  What she actually needed was a better eyeglass prescription.  I very carefully measured her vision and prescribed glasses that give her 20/50 in her better eye.  I also changed her to a straight top bifocal because I did not think that her progressive lenses were giving her enough room for reading.  I love my progressives but they are not appropriate for everyone.

I always appreciate feedback from patients I've helped.  I am very happy that this lady is doing better with her new glasses.
