VisionSim app for iPhone

There is a very well done app for iPhone or iPad that demonstrates how a person's vision looks who has low vision.  The attached pictures show a scene with and without macular degeneration.  It is possible to adjust the degree of vision loss going from slight to severe.  I like the fact that I can use the app to demonstrate to my patient's family member how the patient sees.

In addition to macular degeneration, VisionSim also illustrates vision loss from cataracts, glaucoma, corneal edema, diabetic retinopathy and homonymous hemianopia.  The app is from Braille Institute and costs just a dollar or two.

I took the photos directly from the app and intend to make more soon illustrating how vision is improved by using low vision telescopic or microscopic glasses.
