"Doctor, I want to see the very best that I possibly can."

Sometimes an eye doctor who is concentrating on the important job of diagnosing, treating and monitoring eye disease may overlook something very important to the patient.  The primary goal of every person coming to an optometrist or ophthalmologist is that they want to see the very best that they are capable of.  If you are being followed for macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy or some other eye disease be sure to make it very clear that you want the doctor to help you see the best that you are capable of.  Say this to the doctor, "Doctor, thank you for taking care of the health of my eyes.  I want to be able to see the very best that I can.  What can you do to help me with that?"

Your doctor may be able to prescribe different glasses to help or he/she may offer low vision care and prescribe a low vision device that may help you.  If your doctor tells you that nothing can be done and is unable to help you then you need a low vision optometrist.  You can Google "Low Vision" and possibly find a doctor or call me.  Ask for a complimentary telephone consultation.  I'll be happy to speak with you.  I'll ask a few questions and tell you if I can help.  Call me at 866 321-2030
