Large Print Checks

Many people with macular degeneration ask me for help managing their finances.  They want to be able to read their bills and write checks.  One thing that I recommend is large print checks.  Not many people are aware that their bank can get them checks that are larger with big, bold type.  Both the checks and the check register are larger and easier to read.  The checks are the same size as business checks but much easier to read because of the larger, blacker print.  If your vision is making it hard for you to write checks ask your bank to order the large print checks for you.

You will also find it easier if you write the checks with a bold pen.  Try a Sharpie.  Usually a fine point Sharpie will help.  If that's not bold enough there are Sharpies that make heavier lines.
